Presentation and Poster Guidelines

Oral Presentation Guidelines

The information listed below will be helpful in your plans for your paper (oral) presentation:

  1. Timing: Speakers will be given 20 minutes for their presentation unless otherwise indicated by your symposium organizer - this includes time for Q & A. Typically 15 minutes for presentations allows time for questions and the transition between speakers.
  2. AV Equipment: Each room will have a laptop and data projector loaded with PowerPoint Version 2007 and Adobe Reader. Please bring your talk to the conference on a flash drive and be sure you have a backup of your presentation, in case of problems.
  3. Abstracts: We will compile abstracts into a final program and post them on http://www.usiale.org/newport2012
  4. Presenter Check-in: Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your SESSION (not your presentation) to load your presentation onto the laptop in your session room. Please name the file containing your presentation with your name and session to assure smooth transitions between presentations. This will help your session chair to identify and open your talk. Please test that your presentation will work with PowerPoint Version 2007 or Adobe Reader prior to the meeting, to assure successful viewing of your presentation. There will be some audio/visual assistance provided by staff shared among sessions.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to do a presentation at the conference.

Poster Guidelines
The information listed below will be helpful in your plans for your presentation:

  1. Schedule: Posters can be set up anytime starting after 1:00 pm on Monday, April 9 2012. Posters MUST be up by the poster social on Monday at 5:00 pm. They may be left up until Wednesday April 22, 2012 at 5 pm. Please staff your poster during the poster social from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm on Monday.
  2. Equipment: We will provide poster boards and push pins for you to mount your poster. You will have a space of 4’ x 4’ for your poster, on a 4’ x 8’ poster board shared with another presenter. Please keep your display to within your 4’ x 4’ space.  Each poster presentation will be given a number and the poster boards will be labelled.
  3. Abstracts: We will compile abstracts into a final program and post them on http://www.usiale.org/newport2012

Thank you in advance for your willingness to exhibit your poster at the conference.
