Student Presentation Award Program

US-IALE annually presents a "Best Student Presentation Award" to a student for the outstanding oral paper or poster given at the Society's annual meeting. The winner will receive a $300 cash award, a waiver of one future meeting registration fee, and one complimentary attendance on a fieldtrip or at a workshop of the awardee’s choice at a future annual meeting. Waiver of registration and fieldtrip or workshop fees may be applied to one of the next two subsequent US-IALE annual meetings.. To be eligible, students must:

  1. be registered for the conference by the presenter registration deadline for the 2011 meeting (1 February) and
  2. be an active member of US-IALE (i.e., membership dues paid for 2011).

Students are eligible to be considered for a best student presentation award only once per degree program and must be enrolled in the same degree program at the time of the conference that is relevant to their abstract. In order for judges to best evaluate student presentations that will be most competitive, it is encouraged that students only enter this competition if they have completed or nearly completed research results. Students interested in participating in the presentation contest must mark the appropriate box on the conference registration form AND have paid their membership dues by the presenter registration deadline for the conference (2011 conference: 1 February). Students may review the presentation judging form found here.
