Air Arrival to Portland
Portland International Airport (PDX) is the closest airport, located approximately 10 miles east of the conference venue and downtown Portland. Many major cities in the US and Canada have daily non-stop flights. Major North American air carriers that serve Portland include Air Canada, Alaska, American, Continental, Frontier, Hawaiian, Horizon, JetBlue, Southwest, United, and US Airways. Portland also has direct flights from Amsterdam and Tokyo/Narita (Delta) that can accommodate travelers arriving from Europe and Asia, respectively. US-IALE will not be contracting with any specific airline for the conference, and attendees are encouraged to make reservations early to ensure favorable rates.

From the Airport to the Hilton
For those arriving via air, we highly encourage you to use TriMet public transportation for travel between the airport and conference venue. A MAX (light rail) station is located on the ground floor of the airport terminal, from which travelers may take the Red Line to downtown. One-way fare is $2.30, and the trip takes approximately 40 minutes. After the MAX crosses over the river and enters downtown, exit at the Pioneer Square North stop on the corner of SW Morrison St. and SW Broadway. Walk south on Broadway approximately 2.5 blocks (Pioneer Square will be on your left). The Hilton is located at 921 SW 6th St, between SW Taylor St. and SW Salmon St.. The Hilton’s main entrance is on SW 6th St., but there is an entrance on the Broadway side.

For those who opt for a rental car, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty all serve PDX. Check with individual rental companies for specific location in relation to airport terminal.*
