Fun Stuff

Outdoor Activities
Skiing, of course! Snowbird remains open the longest of any resort in Utah, and at minimum there will be skiing off the Hidden Peak and in Mineral Basin, with elevations of about 3200 m to 3500 m. Depending on the snowfall, winter activities will likely extend all the way to the canyon floor. Each attendee will also be given a round-trip tram ride to Hidden Peak as part of the registration fees.

Some links advertised by Snowbird resort include:
We have arranged for conference room rates to be honored for the Friday and Saturday nights before the conference begins, and for two nights following the conference, should you desire some vacation time associated with the conference.

Indoor Activities
Snowbird has several different pools, hot tubs, exercise rooms, and a complete spa. Depending on the week, there are always evening movies, often live music, and other forms of entertainment to be found. In addition, there are four drinking establishments, assuming you can successfully navigate the labyrinth of Utah’s unique approach to alcohol consumption. Note that all registrants will be given access to the private clubs at Snowbird as part of their registration. If you’re not sure what a “private club” is (your conference hosts, Tom and John, have lived there 20+ years and still don’t get it), check out Snowbird’s explanation.

We are planning on US-IALE evening social events for each night of the conference, so check back here at later dates for more information.
