Lodging

The US-IALE conference will be housed primarily in the Cliff Lodge, offering large rooms with stunning views of the surrounding canyon and ski slopes. The lodge itself has three restaurants, two lounges, two swimming pools, four hot tubs, and is the primary site of the meeting.

Room rates for the conference at Cliff Lodge are as follows:

Option Rate
Canyon and Mountain View Rooms (single and double occupancy) $139.00
Executive King Junior Suite $169.00

Other Lodging Details:

Rates are subject to a $10.00 resort fee, per room, per night that includes high speed internet access in guest rooms and public areas, one complimentary tram ride ($12 value), in room coffee, valet and self parking, complimentary 800 number phone calls, and incoming and outgoing faxes. Rates are also subject to 11.6% state tax.

Deadline:

Reservations must be made before March 12 to guarantee the group rate. After this date the discounted group room rate will not be guaranteed.

Deposit and Cancellation Policy:

30 days prior to the conference attendees who have made reservations will be charged for their first night as a deposit. This deposit will be non-refundable should attendees need to cancel. This also applies to no-shows and early departures.

Reservations may be made by calling 1-800-453-3000 or by emailing lodging@snowbird.com. Individuals should identify themselves with the US-IALE group when making reservations. You should make your airport shuttle reservation when making your hotel reservation, as the hotel is coordinating airport shuttles, and they must be reserved in advance.

IMPORTANT: We strongly encourage all attendees to stay in Snowbird. Simply put, there are no other lodging opportunities within 30-50 km of Snowbird except those at the resort. Daily commuting from the Salt Lake City area to Snowbird is discouraged given the distance, the nature of the canyon road, and commuting times, which can be as long as one hour. Weather can also be adverse in April, making a daily commute hazardous.

Please contact us at iale2009infor@cnr.usu.edu if you have specific questions or concerns regarding lodging. We will work with everyone to ensure lodging at the resort. Quite honestly, your enjoyment of the conference will be jeopardized if you decide to try and commute on a daily basis.
