Air Travel to Salt Lake City

Snowbird is accessed from the Salt Lake City International Airport, with over 500 flights per day from virtually any location in the United States. Most major cities in the US have direct, daily non-stop flights as well. Although the major airline to Salt Lake City is Delta, all other major American carriers, including Southwest, United, American, Continental and Northwest to name a few, serve Salt Lake City as well. In addition, Salt Lake City airport has direct flights from Paris CDG via Delta that can accommodate international travelers coming from Europe. US-IALE will not be contracting with any specific airline for the conference, and attendees are encouraged to book early to ensure favorable rates.

From the Airport to Snowbird

For those arriving via air, we highly discourage renting and driving cars to the resort. Weather in April can be highly variable (recall the 35 cm of snow that fell in Snowbird the day we announced at Madison it was to be the site of the 2009 meeting), and unless you’re accustomed to driving in (potentially extreme) mountain winter snow conditions, you are better off taking advantage of the available shuttle service to and from the airport to Snowbird. Please make your shuttle reservations when you make your hotel reservations with Snowbird. We have a discounted rate of $55.00 per person round trip. Reservations are required.

Car Travel to Snowbird

If you opt to drive via personal car, Snowbird can be reached from Salt Lake City, which itself lies at the junction of Interstates 15, 80 and 84. Click here for directions from Salt Lake City.
